Green Scythe Fair 13th June 2010 -
What a great day, the weather was fine, the atmosphere was great and the organisation terrific. We arrived on the Saturday (what a scorcher) ready to set up bright and early on Sunday morning. We were lucky to get a pitch allocated to us near the bodger, stonemason, and green wood turner. At 11am the gates were opened and in poured the people, by 1 o’clock it was heaving and the stalls (including ours) were doing great business. Background music added to the atmosphere from both sides of our pitch. Were were kept busy with lots of questions and encouraging remarks. By 5pm it started winding down at at 6 on the dot the heavens opened. Having packed up, we returned for the evening entertainment and food (we refrained from the dancing!). Particular reference must be made to The Dolmen who describe themselves as a medieval rock folk band, who battled through with the generator cutting out several times.
Looking forward to doing it again next year.
